Blood Orange (1st ed.)
1st edition/1st printing – 1990
The racing trimaran Street Express is anchored off Southern Ireland in a gale. There are three men on board. The anchor cable parts. All three men get ashore, but only two of them are alive. It begins to look as if this may be not an accident but a conspiracy – a conspiracy whose roots twine through the fast and frenzied world of multihull racing. It is a world where skippers have all the arrogance of rock stars, and sponsors want to get their name on pages and screens. And they may not be over-particular about whether the name is painted on the sail of a boat, or its bottom.
Fundraising Item: 30% of proceeds from the sale of this book will be donated to Friends of Detroit Animal Care and Control, an organization that partners with Detroit Animal Care and Control to promote responsible pet ownership; coordinate adoption events; and provide medical care and supplies for the animals in their care.
