A man in found dead in the middle of a meadow not far from Rome — possibly (most probably) murdered. To identify the dead man and to know how he came to die becomes the obsessin of Giuseppe, the Camagna Romana junk dealer who first discoveres the corpse. The police arrive on the scene along with Sunday tourists returning from the weekend. They crowd and trample the meadow, and Giuseppe observes them all, comments on them all, and suspects everyone…
