The Vikings: Lords of the Seas

In the 8th century, Europe rang with this prayer: “Deliver us, O Lord, from the fury of the Norsemen. They ravage our lands, they kill our women and children.”

Here is the history of the Vikings: Norse, Danes and Swedes. They ploughed the seas in their long boats. They voyaged as far as Greenland and discovered America. They colonized Iceland, pillaged Ireland, and put France to fire and sword. They sailed to the gates of Constantinople and seized the throne of the Tsars. Finally, under William the Conqueror, their descendants subjugated England. They sailed out of history into the realm of legend.
